Former Democratic Representative Elaine Luria is seeking to reclaim Virginia's 2nd congressional district after exiting the House in early 2023. In the months after leaving office, she secured board positions with Overseas Shipholding Group and BAE Systems, receiving compensation that included cash, stock awards and board fees. Her 2023 financial disclosure listed assets between $3.4 million and $12.9 million, but a later candidacy filing shows her wealth has risen to a markedly higher level, though exact figures are not disclosed.
She also noted earned income from the BAE Systems board and two limited-liability companies that were dissolved in late 2025. Luria's opponent is Republican Rep. Jen Kiggans, who previously unseated her in the 2022 race.
