Former West Brom midfielder Quevin Castro dies after collapsing in Lisbon friendly

Former West Brom midfielder Quevin Castro, 25, died after collapsing during a pre-season friendly in Lisbon.

Quevin Castro, a 25-year-old former West Brom midfielder, suffered a collapse in the opening half of a pre-season friendly between third-tier Real Sport Clube and top-flight Estrela de Amadora at Lisbon's Estadio das Seixas, later dying from the incident. The Lisbon Football Association reported his death on the morning of the match, while Real Sport called him a cherished part of their sporting family. Castro joined West Brom in 2021, debuted in the Carabao Cup against Arsenal, and had loan spells at Burton Albion and stints with Cambridge City, York City and Notts County before moving back to Portugal last summer.
