Former West Ham striker Michail Antonio convicted for failing to identify Lamborghini driver

At Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, former Premier League striker Michail Antonio was convicted of failing to give information about who was driving his Lamborghini Urus during a suspected careless-driving episode on Pall Mall in November. Antonio testified that he had handed the keys to car-rental operator Tarique Josephs while he was in Manchester and that a police letter asking for the driver’s name was lost in the mail.

The magistrate determined the letter had arrived and that Antonio did not comply with the statutory requirement. With six penalty points already on his licence from a prior insurance offence, Antonio now faces a possible automatic driving ban. He also has a pending speeding charge from West Midlands police, with a trial set for next March, and recently signed for Watford after a stint in Qatar.
