Former White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt resigns, cites family priorities

Karoline Leavitt, the former White House press spokesperson for Donald Trump and the youngest person ever to hold the post, announced her resignation in August. After taking maternity leave in April and giving birth to a daughter in May, she briefly returned to the West Wing before deciding to leave to devote more time to her four-month-old daughter and two-year-old son. Media speculation linked her exit to an alleged exclusion from an Air Force One evacuation following a bomb threat after the NATO summit in Ankara, but Leavitt only referenced family considerations.

Her departure leaves the role vacant, and the White House has held few briefings since, aside from a session led by JD Vance. Leavitt praised Trump’s work ethic and urged Americans to support him in the upcoming election.
