Former world-champion sprinter Marvin Bracy-Williams arrested for DUI amid lengthy doping bans

Marvin Bracy-Williams, a former world-championship silver medalist, was arrested in Orlando on Aug. 3 after a tow truck driver found him unconscious behind the wheel of a running car. Law enforcement reported the smell of alcohol and failed field-sobriety tests, leading to his booking in Orange County on a DUI charge. The arrest comes amid a cascade of disciplinary actions: USADA imposed a three-year, nine-month ban in November for testosterone use, tampering and whereabouts failures, later extending to a 12-year suspension for a third violation.

During his suspension, Bracy-Williams entered the Enhanced Games, a competition that permits performance-enhancing drugs, and placed third in the 100-meter dash in May. He notified USADA of his retirement on June 5, though the agency said his ineligibility will persist until he formally returns. Prior to his track troubles, he had brief stints in the NFL and played for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football.
