Forum 2000 delegates to join Global Crimea conference in Kyiv, boosting South outreach
Forum 2000 participants will travel from Prague to Kyiv to attend the Global Crimea International Conference, aiming to raise Ukraine’s profile in the Global South.
The Forum 2000 conference held in Prague this week will send a group of participants to Ukraine for the Global Crimea International Conference in Kyiv. Tetiana Zhukova of the ZMINA Human Rights Center said the partnership will aid the first-time organization of the global gathering. The agenda focuses on informing Global South nations—spanning Asia, Africa and Latin America—about conditions in occupied Crimea and Ukraine overall, including de-occupation efforts and civilian detainee releases.
Delegates, comprising scholars, journalists and human-rights advocates, will travel beyond Kyiv to engage with local communities, politicians and media. The Prague forum, marking its 30th anniversary, hosted around 850 attendees from 115 countries, with Ukraine fielding a large delegation. The conference follows earlier “Days of Crimea” events in the Czech Republic that highlighted issues in Ukraine’s occupied territories.
Why it matters
It aims to broaden international awareness of Ukraine’s occupied regions among non-Western nations.
