Founder of Barambah Organics and daughter killed in Queensland plane crash
Ian Campbell, the founder of Barambah Organics, and his 23-year-old daughter Hannah died when their light aircraft crashed near Stockleigh, south of Brisbane.
A light aircraft carrying Barambah Organics founder Ian Campbell, 56, and his daughter Hannah, 23, crashed in a field in Stockleigh, Logan, shortly after taking off from Archerfield Airport. The plane went down around 11:10 a.m., sparking a grass fire that prompted a response from eight Queensland Fire Department crews. Both victims, residents of Ascot, were found by emergency services and pronounced dead at the crash site.
Queensland Police Service and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau are leading the investigation, deploying a team of three specialists to collect evidence and examine the aircraft. Parts of the plane will be transported to the ATSB’s technical facilities in Canberra for further testing. The Campbell family, long-time dairy farmers in the South Burnett region, also operate Mañana Pastoral, which produces olive oil, lamb and beef.

The deaths remove a prominent regional dairy entrepreneur and highlight aviation safety concerns.
