Four arrested after 72-year-old dies following assault near Manitoba RCMP station
Four Lynn Lake residents were charged with assault after a 72-year-old man was found dead outside a Manitoba RCMP detachment.
On Sept. 20, a cell guard at the Lynn Lake RCMP detachment found a 72-year-old man lying injured outside the building and alerted officers. Despite first-aid efforts and an EMS response, the man was declared dead at the scene. Authorities suspect he suffered an assault at his residence prior to reaching the police station.
Four individuals from Lynn Lake have been charged with assault causing bodily harm and are being held pending further legal action. The case is being examined by the Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the local Lynn Lake RCMP unit. Officials say the investigation remains ongoing.
