Four arrested after former champion Zolani Tete shot dead outside his Mdantsane home
Police in South Africa have taken four suspects into custody for the fatal shooting of ex-world champion boxer Zolani Tete and the injury of a woman in his car outside his residence.
Authorities say Tete was waiting at the gate of his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape, when two gunmen wearing balaclavas opened fire. A female passenger was wounded and later hospitalized. Four suspects have now been arrested, with one already due in court and the remaining three slated to appear later. Tete previously held the WBF flyweight title (2007-08) and the WBO bantamweight crown in 2017 and 2019.
