Four arrested in Kerala after woman alleges intoxication and gang-rape at multiple lodges

Police in Perambra detained four suspects accused of drugging and gang-raping a woman at several lodges and homes.

Investigators reported that a woman in Perambra, Kerala, was drugged and moved to various lodges and houses where she was gang-raped. The assaults were allegedly coordinated by a suspect who was paid for his role, and the acts were said to have been recorded on video. The victim delayed reporting the crime because the accused threatened her, but she eventually lodged a complaint at the local police station.

Police located one suspect at a relative’s home in Azhchavattam after the relative initially refused entry, and later arrested the remaining three in Kapad and Karuvannur following night-long searches. All four individuals were brought before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
