Four dead and dozens injured after bus flips on UP expressway
A passenger bus traveling from Rajasthan to Budaun overturned on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Baghpat, killing four people and injuring more than twenty.
Early Monday morning, a bus carrying 32 passengers from Rajasthan to Budaun collided with a divider on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, and overturned. The accident happened at approximately 12.30 am in the vicinity of the Khekra police station. Four Police Response Vehicles under Dial 112, together with ambulances and police personnel, rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations, said Superintendent of Police Suraj Rai.
The injured were taken to Community Health Centres in Khekra and Baghpat as well as the district hospital, with the most seriously hurt referred to higher-level facilities. Police have confirmed four fatalities and are in the process of establishing the victims' identities while contacting relatives for assistance.
