Four maintenance workers struck by express train at Shin-Kanuma Station
Four men working on the tracks were hit by an express train at Shin-Kanuma Station in Tochigi Prefecture and were taken to hospital unconscious.
Police reported that the four workers were clearing weeds from the Tobu Nikko Line when an express service collided with them at about 10:45 a.m. near Shin-Kanuma Station, north of Tokyo. Three of the victims were found beneath the Spacia X train, while the fourth was located on the platform. All four were transported to a medical facility in an unresponsive condition.
