Four-month-old infant dies after being taken to Sacramento fire station, 22-year-old arrested
A four-month-old baby died after being brought to a Sacramento fire station and later pronounced dead at a hospital; police have arrested a 22-year-old suspect on suspicion of homicide.
On the morning of Aug. 14, 2025, Sacramento police were dispatched to a fire station after a four-month-old infant was brought there from a residence on West El Camino Avenue. Emergency personnel rushed the baby to a nearby hospital, but lifesaving measures were unsuccessful and the child was later declared dead. The state's Safely Surrendered Baby Law, which protects infants up to 72 hours old, does not apply to a four-month-old.
Following the coroner's determination of homicide, investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. A warrant was issued for Victor Weaver, a 22-year-old Sacramento resident, who was arrested and booked on suspicion of homicide. Police have not released further information about the infant's background or Weaver's connection to the case.
