Four moped riders killed after car collides on Barnim road near Biesenthal

Authorities said a car traveling north on a Barnim country road attempted to overtake multiple vehicles and changed lanes, colliding with three mopeds heading south from Biesenthal. The impact involved three motorcycles, one of which had two occupants, and caused the deaths of three riders and a passenger at the scene. The vehicle burst into flames, prompting a fire-brigade response that put out the blaze, while the driver sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.
A fourth moped rider managed to avoid the crash and survived without injury. Emergency chaplains and specialized personnel provided support to the victims' families and first-responders. The road remained closed for rescue work and a technical examination of the accident.
