Four teenagers charged in the fatal shooting of a Nashville high school student
Four teens have been arrested and charged with criminal homicide for the August shooting that killed 16-year-old Cameron Frierson in Nashville.
Metropolitan Nashville Police announced that four teenagers have been taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide and conspiracy for the August 21 shooting that killed 16-year-old Cameron Frierson. The suspects—Jon’quavous Johns-Collins, 18; Marcelle Stem Jr., 17; Lil Tay Webster, 17; and Zachkeius Brown, 16—were allegedly inside a white sedan with tinted windows from which multiple rounds were fired at 10:30 p.m. after a Pearl-Cohn High School football game.
Cameron, a junior at Hunters Lane High School, was hit by the bullets, found with several gunshot wounds, and later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Hospital; his brother Chris escaped injury. All four youths were underage at the time and will face juvenile court proceedings. The victim’s mother, Brittany Frierson, confronted one of the accused in court, expressing her grief and demanding justice. Police continue to investigate the motive behind the attack.
