Four women die and dozens injured in bus crash on Telangana hill road
A private bus carrying about 50 people overturned on the Ananthagiri Ghat Road in Vikarabad district, killing four women and injuring several others.
Around 50 passengers were on a private travel bus heading from Sangareddy to Vikarabad to attend a funeral in Chintakunta when it slipped on the Ananthagiri Ghat Road and flipped onto its side. Three female passengers were pronounced dead at the crash site and a fourth woman died while receiving treatment at Vikarabad Government Hospital. Several other riders sustained injuries and were rushed to local hospitals for care, with critical cases sent to the government facility for advanced treatment.
Residents nearby assisted in rescuing victims, and police, along with the Vikarabad superintendent Sneha Mehra, arrived to secure the area and launch an inquiry into the cause. Authorities are examining the road’s condition and the circumstances that led the driver to lose control. Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy expressed condolences and ordered that the injured receive the best possible medical attention.
