He explained that the original tear stemmed from a sports injury in his youth and that a new detachment is a common complication. The co-host expressed gratitude toward Fox management, his fellow anchors, and the audience for their unwavering encouragement.
He noted that the latest operation was carried out by a leading care team and conveyed optimism about returning to the airwaves soon. Jones joined one outlet in December 2018 and was appointed a permanent weekday co-host of Fox & Friends in September 2023, after previously hosting a weekend program. The network is owned by Fox Corp, a sister company to News Corp.
