Fox orders new comedy 'Mammoth' from Modern Family creators for 2027-28 season
Fox has commissioned a half-hour live-action comedy called Mammoth, created by Christopher Lloyd and Danny Zuker, to debut in the 2027-28 lineup.
Fox is expanding its comedy slate by green-lighting Mammoth, a live-action half-hour series slated for the 2027-28 season. The premise follows Coach Tony Mammoth, a larger-than-life gym teacher who is buried in a ski avalanche in 1983 and resurfaces forty years later, confronting a world that has moved on. Christopher Lloyd and Danny Zuker, the co-creators of Modern Family, will serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers.
The series adapts one outlet Two program of the same name, with one outlet Studios Los Angeles executives Mark Linsey and Angie Stephenson, along with creator Mike Bubbins, also attached as executive producers. Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn highlighted the show’s blend of humor and heart, noting that Mammoth will be the network’s second live-action half-hour comedy alongside Animal Control.
