France launches international training school for SAMP/T NG air-defence operators
France announced the creation of an international school to train operators of the new SAMP/T air-defence system.
During a parliamentary defence-budget session, French Air and Space Force chief Jérôme Bellanger said a dedicated school will be established to educate operators of the SAMP/T Nouvelle Génération system. The step follows a recent sale of the system to Denmark and rising interest from other nations. The centre will standardise training for export customers.
Why it matters
Standardised training boosts allies' ability to use France's new air-defence system and underpins future export contracts.
