France records over 110 injuries and 625 arrests as school protests intensify

French school protests have escalated, resulting in over 110 injuries and a cumulative 625 arrests, including about 200 detentions in the latest 24-hour period. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said 83 police officers and 32 educators and students were hurt. Education Minister Édouard Geffray joined him in a press briefing, noting that demonstrators have set fires and torched teachers' cars, and that agitators are moving between schools to incite further violence.

More than 350 schools have experienced protest actions since the unrest began in the greater Paris region, where youths cite missing staff, insufficient funding and rundown buildings as grievances.
