France's most expensive fuel pump hits nearly three euros per litre
A service station on the A11 near Angers in Maine-et-Loire sells SP-98 for 2.899 € per litre, making it the priciest in France.
Government-maintained fuel price listings show that the station located at the Portes d'Angers Sud rest area on the A11 in Maine-et-Loire charges 2.899 € per litre for SP-98, the most expensive rate in the country. At the same location, diesel is priced at 2.819 € per litre and SP-95-E10 at 2.719 € per litre. Comparable diesel rates, slightly lower, are reported at the Parcé Est and Parcé Ouest stations in Sarthe on the A11, as well as at the Blois-Villerbon rest area on the A10, each around 2.829-2.832 € per litre.
While highway stations are known for higher prices, these figures stand out as extreme. The Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) is conducting checks on the reported prices. Drivers seeking cheaper fuel are advised to compare prices across the network.
