Frank Gehry-Designed Santa Monica Loft Listed for $2.39 Million

A rare three-level artist loft in Santa Monica, created by Frank Gehry and Charles Adnoldi, has been put on the market for $2.39 million.

A Frank Gehry-designed artist loft in Santa Monica is now for sale at $2.39 million, according to listing broker Brandon Assanti of the Agency. Built in 1992 as part of a six-unit building intended for studios, the 2,565-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath triplex offers 17-foot ceilings on the main floor, a mezzanine, and additional levels with 12- and 15-foot heights. Large industrial windows and skylights provide sweeping Pacific Ocean vistas, while the interior includes a custom kitchen, walk-in closet, and spa-like bathroom.

The sellers purchased the unit for $1.33 million in 2014 and are moving to New York for work, making this the first transaction in the building since 2024. The gated complex also provides two underground parking spaces and storage. Gehry-designed homes are scarce, with past examples like Patrick Dempsey’s Malibu “Tin House” fetching high prices.

Why it matters

The sale highlights the limited availability and high demand for Frank Gehry-designed residential properties.
