Freedom Caucus Fund Deploys $6 Million Ads Targeting Six House Races
The House Freedom Caucus’s political arm is spending $6 million on television ads in six congressional contests, accusing Democratic opponents of far-left policies.
The campaign arm of the House Freedom Caucus is activating a $6 million advertising push ahead of the midterm elections, targeting six House races across the nation. A spokesperson said the ads will highlight what they describe as “far-left, socialist Democrats” who back policies such as illegal-immigrant amnesty, open borders, and the repeal of Trump-era tax cuts to fund welfare for non-citizens, as well as calls to impeach President Donald Trump.
The ad buy supports incumbent Republicans Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Nick Begich of Alaska, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, and Eli Crane of Arizona, while also backing challengers Brandon Herrera in Texas, Mike Beltran in Florida, and David Flippo in Nevada. The initiative comes as senior Freedom Caucus members like Chip Roy, Byron Donalds, Ralph Norman and former chair Andy Biggs are set to leave the House, and the caucus hopes the spending will secure its agenda in the 120th Congress.
Republicans are facing a difficult national fight to keep the House and Senate, but internal Democratic battles with socialist primary winners may give GOP candidates an opening. The ads are part of a broader strategy by the Freedom Caucus to shape the Republican platform for the remainder of President Donald Trump’s final term.
Why it matters
The ad spend could influence tight House races and affect the balance of power in Congress.
