French couple placed on Bali immigration watchlist over alleged adult video production
Bali immigration added two French nationals to its Subject of Interest list after suspecting them of filming explicit videos during their January stay.
Bali’s immigration authorities have entered two French citizens, a woman known as EMC and a man called JPS, into the Subject of Interest (SOI) database because they are suspected of producing pornographic videos on the island. The pair entered Indonesia through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Jan 6, 2026 and departed on Jan 18, and investigators believe the material was filmed while they stayed in accommodation in Karangasem District, which falls under the Buleleng Immigration Office’s jurisdiction.
The videos appeared on adult sites in August and went viral on social media in October. Ramdhani, head of the Bali Regional Immigration Office, said the SOI entry will trigger alerts at immigration checkpoints if the individuals attempt to re-enter Indonesia, enabling further scrutiny. The SOI database is integrated with the national immigration management system and is accessible at checkpoints across the country. This action reflects Indonesia’s effort to monitor and potentially curb the creation and distribution of explicit content by foreign visitors.
Why it matters
It shows Indonesia tightening immigration controls to monitor foreign nationals suspected of illegal content production.
