French labour ministry unveils AI support plan for training and businesses
The Ministry of Labour announced a new programme to help workers and companies adapt to artificial intelligence, including free training platforms and support for apprenticeship centres.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Labour launched a comprehensive plan to steer the French labour market through AI-driven changes. Central to the effort is a free, no-prerequisite platform called Explore IA, developed by the state-backed start-up Pix, offering playful AI learning paths for the general public. Pix will also provide a dedicated platform for apprentices, while CFA centres will obtain extra funding to expand curricula in AI development, cybersecurity and related fields.
The programme includes an AI-maturity test for job seekers administered through France Travail, followed by personalised training routes. Reforms to the personal training account will prioritize AI courses and increase co-financing to lower participants' costs. Finally, specialised task forces will advise SMEs on AI applications, particularly in hiring, and support professional branches in organising social dialogue on the technology.
