Cyréna Samba-Mayela, France's Olympic silver medallist in hurdles, has been provisionally suspended after three failures to meet location reporting obligations.
The Athletics Integrity Unit confirmed that Cyréna Samba-Mayela, the French Olympic silver medallist and 2024 European champion in hurdles, is under a provisional suspension for three breaches of her whereabouts obligations. The athlete had been forced to pull out of the recent European Championships in Birmingham due to physical problems. In response, the French Athletics Federation stated it accepts the suspension and will allow the relevant authorities to continue the investigation.
The federation reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on doping and highlighted its 2025-2028 prevention plan aimed at athletes, coaches, officials and administrators. It emphasized ongoing commitment to integrity, fairness and the core values of athletics.
