French rider Ronan Auge placed in induced coma after Tour of Langkawi crash
Ronan Auge, a 22-year-old French cyclist, was put into a medically induced coma following a serious crash on stage six of the Tour of Langkawi in Malaysia.
During stage six of the eight-stage Tour of Langkawi, French cyclist Ronan Auge crashed and incurred serious injuries that required immediate hospitalization. Medical staff placed him in a medically induced coma, and his team, Unibet Red Roses, reported that his condition is currently stable and not life-threatening. The race, part of the UCI ProSeries, takes place on the western side of the Malaysian mainland and concludes on Sunday. Auge’s incident follows other high-profile cycling mishaps, such as the fatal crash of British rider Fin Tarling on the Volta a Portugal and the recent multi-system trauma suffered by American Ezra Caudell at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic.
