FSIS recalls nearly 25,000 pounds of uninspected frozen buffalo chicken products
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a recall of about 24,900 pounds of frozen buffalo chicken items made without inspection.
The Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service disclosed a recall of nearly 25,000 pounds of frozen buffalo chicken products that were produced without a federal inspection grant. Shanghai Ravioli Corporation of Boston is recalling about 24,900 pounds, covering cardboard boxes of 100 Buffalo Chicken Rangoon pieces and 120 Benedetto's Buffalo Chicken Mozzarella Sticks. Labels show sell-by dates from July 8 2026 through June 29 2027, and the items were manufactured between July 8 2025 and June 29 2026.
Distribution reached food-service locations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, and FSIS fears some may already be stored in restaurant freezers. The agency urges these venues not to serve the products and to either discard them or return them to the supplier. The recall stems from false inspection numbers on the packaging, raising concerns about possible allergens or bacterial contamination, though no related illnesses have been reported.
