Fugitive wanted for UK family murders pleads guilty to gun crimes in South Africa

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, a British citizen of Zimbabwean descent, was arrested in Johannesburg in July after Interpol issued a notice for his capture. He is wanted in the UK for the July 6 killings of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their daughters, Natalie (15) and Nala (5), whose bodies were found with head injuries near Bedford, north of London. In South Africa, Tshuma pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and an immigration offense for entering the country while on the run.

The guilty pleas were part of a plea agreement, and South African authorities intend to extradite him to Britain, where prosecutors will charge him with three counts of murder. Police suspect he fled the UK on July 4, traveled through Zimbabwe, and arrived in South Africa before the bodies were discovered, possibly intending to use the weapon to end his own life.
