Gamescom Opening Night Live to Showcase Major Game Trailers and Announcements
The two-hour Opening Night Live show at Gamescom, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will debut new footage for titles such as Final Fantasy VII Revelation and a Witcher 3 expansion.
Geoff Keighley will anchor Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on Tuesday, kicking off at 2 PM ET after a half-hour preshow. The broadcast promises first looks at several high-profile projects, such as Final Fantasy VII Revelation, a new Witcher 3 expansion titled Songs of the Past, Gears of War: E-Day, and a strategy game based on Game of Thrones. Although Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for a November 19 launch, its dedicated reveal event on Thursday means it will probably not be featured.
CD Projekt Red’s joint CEO Michał Nowakowski confirmed that The Witcher 4 aims for a 2028 release window, while the Songs of the Past expansion is expected in 2027 and will be highlighted during the Opening Night Live stream. The event arrives amid a crowded fall release calendar, positioning it as a key moment for gamers to glimpse upcoming titles before the season’s major launches.
