Gamuda Secures A$790 million EPC Deal for Victoria’s Mortlake Renewable Energy Hub

Gamuda Bhd announced that its subsidiary, Gamuda Engineering Pty Ltd, has been awarded a A$790 million EPC contract for the Mortlake Energy Hub (Stage 1) in Victoria, Australia. The agreement with MEH SubCo Pty Ltd, trustee of the MEH project trust, tasks Gamuda with the full scope of engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning for a 300-MW hybrid renewable plant comprising a 435 MWp solar farm and a 1,449 MWh battery storage system.

The facility will connect to the 500-kV grid through the Mortlake Terminal Station. A limited notice to proceed will be issued tomorrow, allowing early enabling works, while the full notice depends on the project reaching financial close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Completion is expected by January 2029, and Gamuda also aims to sign a separate A$45 million operation and maintenance contract within a month, which would further boost its revenue and earnings.
