Gangster Kala Jathedi granted five-hour parole to attend twin daughters' naming ceremony

Sandeep, known as Kala Jathedi, was granted a five-hour custody parole from Delhi’s Tihar jail to travel to his ancestral home in Jathedi village, Sonipat, for the naming ceremony of his three-month-old twin daughters. The event, scheduled between 10 am and 5 pm, will include a havan and naming rites at the family’s house in the Rai area, with his wife Anuradha Choudhary overseeing the arrangements. Police from Delhi and Sonipat will provide security and closely track his whereabouts during the visit.

The limited parole duration reflects adjustments made for logistical costs and shift changes of the deployed officers. This is not the first brief release; a four-hour parole was previously granted in July after the twins were born. Jathedi remains incarcerated on 31 serious charges, including murder and extortion, across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, and authorities have announced a combined reward of ₹7 lakh for tips leading to his capture.
