Gap unveils denim-inspired GapBags collection with high-priced Five-Pocket Tote
Gap Inc. launched its GapBags line, featuring a denim-styled Five-Pocket Tote and other accessories priced up to $498, with a pop-up event at Rockefeller Center.
Gap Inc. debuted a new accessories line called GapBags on Sept. 8, led by Reed Krakoff, the executive director of accessories. The flagship piece is a Five-Pocket Tote that replicates the stitching, belt loops and gold hardware of Gap’s iconic denim, available in dark and medium washes across three sizes, with the Large Patchwork Denim version priced at $498. The collection also offers a Hoodie Tote made from a cotton-blend jersey with a neoprene lining, a printed Canvas Favorite Tote, and a soft denim Crescent crossbody, all of which can be embellished with miniature charms.
From Sept. 11 to 13 the brand hosted a pop-up in Rockefeller Center’s Channel Gardens, featuring a massive tote installation and customization stations, an event attended by Jordyn Woods, Ashtin Earle and other celebrities. The items are selling quickly, prompting shoppers to buy while inventory lasts.

The launch highlights Gap's strategy to refresh its image by turning classic denim cues into premium accessories.
