Gazprom to Halt Gas Flow to Armenia for Pipeline Maintenance Until Late September
Gazprom will suspend natural gas deliveries to Armenia as it carries out repairs on the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia pipeline, with service expected to resume by Sept. 25.
Gazprom's regional subsidiary confirmed that the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia Gas Pipeline will cease operations on Tuesday for repair work slated to finish by Sept. 25. The shutdown affects the main conduit delivering Russian gas to Armenia, which will instead draw on its own reserves and increased Iranian imports during the period. Russia provided 2.7 billion cubic metres of gas to Armenia in 2025, accounting for 82 % of the country's total gas imports.
The interruption follows a similar maintenance window last September. Relations between Moscow and Yerevan have soured as Armenia pursues deeper engagement with the European Union, prompting Russian calls for a referendum on its Eurasian Economic Union membership.
