General Intuition seeks $6 billion pre-money round backed by Valor and Point72

General Intuition, a New York AI startup, is negotiating a new financing round at a $6 billion pre-money valuation with investors including Valor Equity Partners and Point72 Ventures.

General Intuition, headquartered in New York, is in discussions to secure a new financing round that would value the firm at $6 billion before money is added. New participants such as Valor Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures and Seven Seven Six are expected to join existing shareholders Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst. This follows a $320 million infusion at a $2.3 billion valuation only weeks earlier.

CEO Pim de Witte, who spun the startup out of the Medal platform, aims to use the capital to improve the general AI model and focus on robotic embodiments, which will involve expanding compute capacity through a partnership with CoreWeave and hiring additional staff. Sources say the round is oversubscribed as investors vie for exposure to one of the sector’s most promising physical-AI ventures. The development confirms earlier reports that General Intuition is becoming a leading name in the race to build generalized AI for real-world tasks.

Why it matters
