Georgia death-row inmate requests an elaborate final meal before scheduled execution

Stacey Humphreys, 53, was convicted of malice murder for the 2003 slayings of Cynthia "Cyndi" Williams, 33, and Lori Brown, 21, after forcing the women to surrender their bank PINs in a real-estate office near Atlanta and then shooting them. He is scheduled for lethal injection at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson next Wednesday, marking the first execution in Georgia since 2025. The Georgia Department of Corrections says Humphreys has requested a substantial final meal including barbecue beef brisket, pork ribs, a bacon double cheeseburger, french fries, buffalo wings, a meat-lover pizza, butter-pecan and peach ice cream, plus two caffeine-free sodas.

The state’s policy on last-meal spending limits was not confirmed. Recently, Humphreys’ attorneys filed a motion claiming a juror lied during selection and swayed the jury toward a death sentence, seeking a new sentencing trial. It remains unclear whether the motion will affect the upcoming execution.
