Georgia mother of three fatally shot by boyfriend on bond, who then killed himself
Nicole Karastury Elliot was shot dead by her abusive boyfriend, Andrew Roy Harris, while she was returning home with her children, and Harris later died by suicide when police moved in.
Nicole Karastury Elliot, a 35-year-old mother of three, was killed by her boyfriend Andrew Roy Harris after she returned home from school drop-off in Waverly Hall, Georgia. Harris, who had been released on bond for a previous domestic-violence charge, entered the yard and a Ring camera recorded Elliot begging him not to fire. She was shot in the head and died at the scene.
The following day, deputies found Harris at a Day’s Inn across the Alabama border and he inflicted a self-directed gunshot wound as they moved in. Harris had a history of domestic-violence arrests in both Georgia and Alabama. Sheriff Mike Jolley described the difficulty of informing Elliot’s three children about their mother’s death. The incident began after Harris attempted to obtain medication belonging to Elliot’s middle son.
