German army to form dedicated drone regiment within 10th Armored Division
Germany's defence ministry announced the creation of a new regiment focused solely on unmanned aerial systems, attached to the 10th Armored Division.
The German defence minister revealed plans for an autonomous regiment that will consolidate the army's drone capabilities. The unit will include a company for electronic warfare and another for counter-drone operations. Its equipment will span from short-range reconnaissance drones to long-range strike platforms capable of hitting targets up to 500 km away. The regiment will operate under the 10th Armored Division of the Deutsches Heer.
