Journey Beyond’s Ghan luxury train has launched its top-level Aurora Australis Suites, a new class of cabin with private sleeping quarters, custom beds and lavish en-suite facilities. Designed by the award-winning Woods Bagot studio and manufactured in South Australia, the suites command prices starting at about $13,350 per traveller and are already booked through March. The Ghan, which traverses the 1,851-mile route between Darwin and Adelaide, continues to provide all-inclusive meals, bar service and scenic windows.
In addition to the new suites, the operator will debut a full northbound itinerary next year, allowing passengers to explore the Flinders Ranges, Marla, Alice Springs and Katherine over four days. The launch reflects growing demand for high-end rail experiences among affluent travellers seeking both comfort and adventure in remote Australian landscapes.
