Ghanaian man faces multiple sexual assault charges after arrests in Oklahoma City
A 26-year-old Ghanaian man has been detained several times in Oklahoma City on allegations of sexual assault, with three separate incidents under investigation.
Jeff Kofi Asare, a 26-year-old native of Accra, Ghana, has been arrested multiple times in the past two weeks for alleged sexual assaults in Oklahoma City. Incidents reported include pushing a woman against a bus stop window on Northwest 23rd Street, grabbing a woman's buttocks near Scissortail Park, and an attempted rape on the Lake Hefner Trail where firefighters intervened and called police. The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office confirmed that at least three separate sexual-assault allegations are under investigation.
A local district court judge set a $75,000 bond on a first-degree rape charge, and prosecutors are seeking to increase it due to the rapid succession of alleged crimes. Court records show Asare has faced numerous felony and misdemeanor charges dating back to August 2023, and his immigration status has drawn public attention.
