Ginbee Go to Lead BPI as First Female President-CEO

Maria Cristina “Ginbee” Go will become president and chief executive officer of the Bank of the Philippine Islands on April 26, 2027, succeeding Jose Teodoro “TG” Limcaoco.

Maria Cristina “Ginbee” Go, a 23-year veteran of the Bank of the Philippine Islands, is set to assume the presidency and chief executive officer role on April 26, 2027, following the bank’s annual stockholders’ meeting and required approvals. Currently BPI’s executive vice president and head of consumer banking, Go previously served as president of BPI Family Savings Bank, overseeing its integration into the parent bank, mirroring the career path of her predecessor Jose Teodoro “TG” Limcaoco.

Before joining BPI, she held leadership positions at Citibank, Ayala Land and Procter & Gamble, and is a CPA who graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman and topped the 1991 CPA exam, later earning an honors MBA from Harvard Business School. As head of consumer banking, she has modernized branch designs, expanded retail services and introduced AI-driven digital tools, and recently helped launch a Disney-themed savings product for children. Limcaoco will remain on BPI’s board and take senior governance roles within the Ayala Group, while chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala expressed confidence in Go’s stewardship amid a volatile economic environment.
