Global commemorations mark three years since Hamas attacks on October 7

On the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas assault, Israel and numerous countries held solemn memorials for the victims.

Israel marked the third anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks with nationwide flag-half-staff displays and community vigils, while protesters briefly shut the Ayalon Highway near Tel Aviv for a 6:29 a.m. silence, mirroring the attack’s start time. In Kibbutz Kfar Aza, residents recited one outlet of the dead, and nearby families praised the bravery of 16 female surveillance soldiers killed at Nahal Oz. Former prime minister Naftali Bennett and other leaders visited the Nova music festival site, where hundreds of concert-goers were murdered or abducted.

The Israeli Embassy organized a memorial at Washington Hebrew Congregation, and synagogues in New York held similar services. Outside Downing Street, a vigil gathered supporters, and French members of the European Parliament honored survivors and victims.
