Global Jewish Groups Unite to Declare Zionism Integral to Jewish Identity
Over 50 Jewish organizations signed the J50 Declaration in Jerusalem, affirming Zionism as a core element of Jewish identity and labeling anti-Zionist denial of Jewish self-determination as antisemitic.
Jewish organizations worldwide gathered in Jerusalem for the third J50 Forum, where they adopted the J50 Declaration on Zionism and Antisemitism. More than 50 groups, ranging from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations to the Board of Deputies of British Jews, signed a statement declaring that Zionism is inseparable from Jewish identity and that any effort to deny Jews their right to self-determination in Israel constitutes antisemitism.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar hosted the meeting, which he founded in May 2025, and provided regular briefings to participants. William Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents, chaired the session and stressed that Zionism must not be defined by external forces. The declaration also warns that governments, international bodies, universities, media and cultural institutions are increasingly platforms for delegitimising Zionism and marginalising Jews. Signatories pledged to confront anti-Zionist narratives wherever they appear.
