Global leaders gather in New York for Climate Group's Climate Week amid energy transition challenges

The Climate Group kicked off Climate Week in New York, coordinating the schedule with the United Nations General Assembly. Over a thousand events are planned across the city, attracting an estimated audience of more than one hundred thousand people. On the opening day, leaders such as Anthony Albanese, Ed Milliband and Kristún Frostadóttir will present on the state of the energy transition.

Organizers stress that the main obstacle is not ambition but the removal of outdated regulations, infrastructure limits and market misalignments. They highlight the rapid redesign of energy systems driven by electrification, AI and digital infrastructure, and call for swift, large-scale action to meet the 2050 net-zero goal.
