Global X launches ETF focused on multilayer ceramic capacitor makers

Global X announced a new exchange-traded fund that invests in companies producing multilayer ceramic capacitors, a key component in AI servers, EVs and smartphones.

Global X revealed the Global X MLCC & Electronic Components ETF, targeting manufacturers of multilayer ceramic capacitors used in AI servers, electric vehicles, smartphones and other modern devices. The fund offers U.S. investors access to the five companies that control roughly 85 % of global MLCC production, such as Murata Manufacturing, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Yageo Corp. and TDK Corp. Pedro Palandrani explained that these component makers sit at a critical chokepoint in the AI supply chain, making direct investment difficult through U.S.-listed shares.

The launch expands Global X’s portfolio of thematic ETFs, which already includes nine funds covering AI infrastructure, robotics, cybersecurity and related commodities. CEO Ryan O'Connor said the new offering reflects the firm’s strategy of identifying structural trends before they become mainstream.

Why it matters

The ETF gives investors a way to tap into a crucial part of the AI and electronics supply chain that is otherwise hard to access.
