GMA Anchor Will Reeve Shares Testicular Cancer Survival and Tribute to Parents

Will Reeve, a Good Morning America host and the son of late actor Christopher Reeve, announced that he has been declared cancer-free after a diagnosis of testicular cancer earlier this year that later involved abdominal lymph nodes. He first noticed a lump in the shower, dismissed it, but his wife Amanda Dubin Reeve prompted a medical visit that led to an ultrasound and subsequent surgery to remove the diseased testicle in May.

Further testing showed spread to lymph nodes, prompting a six-hour operation in June and a chemotherapy regimen that concluded on July 31. Throughout treatment he received extensive support from family, friends, and one outlet colleagues, and he credited his parents’ legacy of turning adversity into hope for motivating his openness. Reeve reflected on the irony of receiving care at Memorial Sloan Kettering, the same center where his mother Dana Reeve died of lung cancer, and he highlighted how the journey reinforced his commitment to sharing personal struggles to help others. He also participated in the 2024 documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story,” honoring his parents’ advocacy work.
