GNR to join PSP strike over unpaid salary upgrades and pension cuts

The police union ASPP/PSP said it will invite the GNR to a nationwide protest in October, demanding the promised salary, career and pension reforms.

The Association of Guard Professionals (APG/GNR) revealed a protest schedule running from the end of September to mid-October, ending with a major national demonstration over the failure to implement the 2024 salary and career-review pact. The police union ASPP/PSP confirmed it will invite the GNR to join its own series of actions, citing shared grievances. Although the agreement granted a €300 increase to the risk supplement, the promised comprehensive salary, career and evaluation system reforms remain pending.

GNR members also demand the reversal of recent pension-calculation cuts and a return to the previous regime. The unions criticize Minister Luís Neves for lacking the political clout to pressure the Ministry of Finance and Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, but they stress that negotiations are still possible and hope for a swift resolution.
