Goa's Kalakar Kritadnyata Nidhi offers up to Rs 25,000 for artists' disaster-damaged homes
The Goa government’s Kalakar Kritadnyata Nidhi scheme provides eligible artists with financial aid of up to Rs 25,000 to repair or rebuild houses damaged by natural calamities.
Goa’s Directorate of Art & Culture runs the Kalakar Kritadnyata Nidhi, a welfare program that helps needy artists and their families. When a natural disaster damages an artist’s home, the scheme offers a one-time grant of up to Rs 25,000, or the valuation determined by the taluka mamlatdar if lower. Eligibility requires the applicant to be at least 50 years old, a native Goan, and have an annual family income not exceeding Rs 2 lakh, though age limits may be relaxed in special cases.
Beneficiaries must provide official documents, including birth, marriage, income and medical certificates, to avoid rejection. Beyond housing aid, the program also funds medical care, daughters’ marriages, funeral expenses, scholarships, self-employment support and lump-sum grants for artists’ dependents.
