GOG launches printable 3D models of classic PC game boxes
GOG now offers downloadable 3D files and printable templates for the packaging of five legacy PC titles.
GOG is reviving the nostalgic appeal of physical PC game boxes by providing downloadable 3D models and printable packaging templates for a select group of classic titles. The "Printable Big Box" lineup currently features Armikrog, Descent, Hitman: Codename 47, Myst and Star Trek: 25th Anniversary. When browsing these games on GOG, a "3D Boxes" label appears alongside other bonus content.
Owners can retrieve a ZIP archive that includes an animated GLB file of the box art and flat-layout templates in PDF, SVG and Adobe Illustrator formats, enabling users to create their own paper replicas. GOG describes the initiative as a way to preserve the visual identity of games whose original cases often get lost or damaged.
