Golden Dragon launches extensive aircore drilling across a 3km gold anomaly in WA
Golden Dragon Mining has begun a 6,000-9,000 m aircore drilling program at its Cue Gold project to test a three-kilometre gold-in-soil anomaly in Western Australia’s Murchison region.
Golden Dragon Mining has activated a major aircore drilling effort at its Cue Gold project, covering a 6,000-9,000 m stretch that includes the Coodardy and Behring Bore areas in the Murchison region of Western Australia. An earlier auger campaign uncovered a broad northeast-trending geochemical trend, with gold strongly associated with arsenic and antimony, and a peak soil gold value of 720 ppb. Managing director Simon Buswell-Smith highlighted that the drilling will test whether these surface anomalies are sourced from a single, large mineralised corridor rather than isolated targets.
The firm is also awaiting laboratory results from 2,833 m of reverse-circulation drilling that previously produced high-grade hits such as 12 m at 6.5 g/t gold and a 4 m section grading 21.37 g/t. Golden Dragon recently secured a $2.2 million investment from Shanghai-listed Chengtun Mining Group, expanding its landholdings to about 619 km² in a district that hosts Westgold’s Big Bell mine. The company is also advancing the Stella Range project near Laverton, where a 2.2-km soil anomaly has yet to be drilled.
Why it matters
The drilling could confirm a large, continuous gold system, potentially boosting the company's valuation and regional mining activity.
